Augean - Wins extension to landfill sight

The shares jumped 15p to a new high of 270p after Augean announced that its smaller landfill site at Port Clarence has won a licence extension from the Environmental Agency to increase its hazardous waste capacity from 100,000 to 500,000 tonnes a year, making it the biggest in the North. Augean has also purchased the royalty agreement on the site, which nullifies the previous requirement to pay substantial royalties once annual volumes rise above 250,000 tonnes.
