The shares surged to a new high of 762p on the news that NETeller has acquired Quick Access, a Macau based debit card payment processor, a deal which represents the group's first move into Asia and provides a foothold into the potentially huge Chinese gambling market. Quick Access, which cost an initial US$7.5m (£4m), was established two years ago and currently makes net profits of around US$0.5m through processing 50m transactions a year. NETeller initially plans to integrate a simplified version of its e-wallet with Quick Access but will encompass the full multi-currency NETeller system in due course.
