Chemring - Benefiting from massive US defence contract wins

Over the month, we met with David Price, chief executive of Chemring, a leading supplier of pyrotechnic products and decoy countermeasures (such as flares and chaff), which protect military assets from missile attacks. US President George Bush has ensured that Chemring has been kept extraordinarily busy in recent years and it was no surprise when in January it won the largest contract in its history with the US Department of Defence (DoD). This led analysts to sharply upgrade their forecasts for the next two years and earnings are now expected to increase from 42p in its last financial year, which ended 31 October, to 61p this year and 73p in 2007.
