Five-a-side football pitch operator Powerleague has announced the acquisition of five indoor soccer centres from JJB Sports, 109p, for a maximum £17.4m. The newly acquired centres, in Manchester, Wigan, Derby, Blackburn and North Shields, have 69 pitches between them and generated estimated turnover of £6m in the year ended 31 January. Numis has adjusted this year’s pretax profit forecast downwards by 9% to £5.2m (4.4p) reflecting one-off marketing and re-branding costs. Meanwhile forecasts for 2009 and 2010 have been edged up 1.5% and 4% to £6.5m (5.8p) and £8m (6.7p) respectively.
