Shares in building and property development firm Rok bounced after it banished fears of another profit warning by announcing reasonably good final results. For the year to 31 December, Rok generated a 41% rise in pretax profit to £31.7m from turnover  that increased 38% to £950m. Earnings rose 24% to 13p. Rok’s new build and construction division once again produced superlative results with revenue increasing 54% to £526m and operating profit doubling to £10.1m. In a chastened new era of tightening credit, Rok is fortunate that half its activities came from the public sector, much of which is procured under long-term framework agreements.
