Budget airlines have taken a big bite out of the lunches of their full service rivals with low cost carrier capacity tripling to just over 30m seats over the past decade. One such operator, which has enjoyed terrific growth has been Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) focused airline, Wizz Air, whose pretax profit has increased from Eu41.9m to Eu95.4m in the two years ended March ’14, while in just the six months to September ’14 profits have already reached Eu164m.
