Soft drinks firm Nichols produced reassuring final results with pretax profit rising 9% to £28m and eps almost 10% to 60.3p on unchanged sales of £109m. There was a 2% rise in operating margin to 25.4% - the highest in the soft drink sector. Net cash was unchanged at £35.4m due to acquisition of Noisy Drinks Co. and the Feel Good brand.In the UK sales were down 0.3% to £84.8m, but beat the market (which declined 0.6%), the highlight being gains in market share (in prominent front of store chiller space) for Vimto’s Still range.
