Shares in US promotional products firm 4Imprint soared over £21 after it released results slightly ahead of forecast with revenues up 18% at US$738m. Pretax profit rose 9% to US$45.6m while eps increased 22% to almost 130 cents.4Imprint’s business model is to grow a large database of loyal customers, which they hit regularly with catalogues and e-mails as well as invest in marketing to attract new ones. Profits lagged sales growth in 2018 because it was an “investment” year with 4Imprint complementing its traditional marketing channels with new areas such as TV and radio to build brand awareness.
