Plus500, the online contracts for difference (CFD) player, has reported a record 168% increase in EBITDA to US$515.9m, while a halving of the tax rate to 12% delivered astonishing net profit of US$500m, up 229%. All this in spite of a well-flagged Q4 slow-down, reflecting lower volatility.Sales rose 146% to a record US$872m, driven by a 117% increase in active customers to 434,000 and 13% growth in average revenue per user to just over US$2000. Encouragingly, customer churn halved to just 30%.
