Pawnbroker H&T delivered strong results marginally ahead of forecast with profit before tax increasing 90% to £19.0m (2021: £10.0m) as all divisions grew in the year.   Pawnbroking (63% gross profit) increased gross profit by 42% to £63.7m as the Pledge Book grew over 50%, to finish the year at £100.7m (2021: £66.9m), driven by the cost of living crisis and return of larger loans to pre-Covid levels. Despite the more uncertain consumer climate, demand for retail jewellery and watches (17% gross profit) also continued to grow, with gross profit up 7% to £17.8m helped by growing fashion for second hand jewellery.
