The shares inched higher after Emerald announced the completion to drilling of Vigia 2, the first appraisal well of the Vigia discovery, situated in the Campo Rico block and it is now moving on to test a second appraisal well (Vigia 3). Subject to successful long-term production tests Emerald should be producing oil from the Vigia 1 and 2 wells quite soon. Separately, Emerald is also preparing an application to its Government partner, Ecopetrol, to declare the Campo Rico block commercial. The next scheduled newsflow will be the results from the crucial work-overs of Emerald's second and third Campo Rico wells, which should increase production to over 6,000 barrels of oil per day.
