Photo-Me�s final results beat expectations for the year ended 30 April, with pretax profit increasing 62% to �34.5m, helped by a larger than normal �6m reduction in the depreciation charge. Earnings rose 55% to 6.3p, while net cash increased to �4m. The key driver of this growth was the manufacturing division (42% of turnover), which enjoyed a 40% increase in minilab unit sales and an estimated 125% increase in operating profit to c. �22.5m. Photo-Me hit broker Evolution�s target of selling 1,750 Minilabs in the year, while the second half also benefited from a higher proportion of sales from the flagship DKS1550.
