We first met Vantis, which provides accountancy, advisory and professional services to SMEs, soon after it floated on AIM back in May 2002, but were put off by its small size and the growing hostility towards this sector, following several high profile problems affecting its larger rivals, Tenon (31p) and Numerica. However, Vantis has not put a foot wrong since then, with its pretax profit increasing from �3.2m to �7.9m in its first two full years ended 31 March 2005.
