Given that North Sea oil & gas operator Venture Production is in the middle of a dramatic step increase in its production rates, it�s hardly surprising that the shares have spiked upwards since we first recommended them at 300p in May. But following our recent meeting with chief executive Mike Wagstaff, we believe Venture will prove to be a cracking investment even at these higher levels, particularly now that the oil price has burst through the psychologically important US$60 level.
