In a pre-close trading update, Venture Production noted that average daily production for the first six months ended 30 June was 43,572 barrels oil equivalent per day (boepd), an increase of 79% over the comparable period last year. However, because of planned maintenance shutdowns over the summer months, it is still sticking to its cautious guidance of 40-42,000 boepd for the year. Venture has successfully brought several new production wells on stream and when its new jack-up rig arrives in late September, it will also drill some higher impact prospects.
