Homeserve - Share price fall overdone

Homeserve, which sells annual insurance policies that cover emergency repair services for the home such as heating, plumbing and drains, has demonstrated that people will still pay a premium to avoid the risk of suffering cowboy tradesmen. Its final results, for the year to 31 March, showed revenue increasing 16% to Â£555m with pretax profit rising 26% to Â£85.3m. Eps rose 25% to 93.0p.In the UK it achieved its target of selling 1.6m new utility policies, while retention rates remained high at 85%. With costs mostly fixed that meant operating profit soared 30% to Â£73.9m even though turnover only rose 12% to Â£211m.
