Interior Services (ISG) has released an encouraging update, with trading in line with expectations. Its strategy of diversification has meant that the decline in London fit out and refurbishment has been offset by stronger trading in its retail and regional businesses driven by its framework agreements with banks and food retailers and with public sector work. While there have been some cancellations and delays, particularly in Europe, it has enjoyed good growth elsewhere, notably in China. At its interim results, ISG reported that its order book would reduce as longer lead time UK fit out, new build and refurbishment projects are being replaced by higher margin negotiated work in retail and overseas.
