Since our last update the shares have soared through the £9 barrier and now stand a massive 314% ahead of the 226p at which we added them to the Trader Portfolio back in July 2003. The catalyst for the latest uptick were impressive final results, in which turnover was virtually unchanged at £287.3m, but largely thanks to a 1.1% rise in operating margin to 15%, saw pretax profit rise 17.3% to £38.3m. Eps increased 17.1% to 53.5p, while the dividend was raised a notable 20% to 15.8p. Meanwhile net debt fell by £21.1m to £112.3m while the forward order book rose 8% to £920m.Synergy's core activity of medical device sterilisation services delivered 14% sales growth of which 10% was organic, helped by a change of ownership ...
