Greene King - Heat wave should boost pub sales

In spite of last year's hideously wet and cold summer pubs operator, Greene King's results for the year to 28 April still showed a 4.8% rise in turnover to almost £1.2bn while pretax profit rose 6.6% to £162m. Eps increased 7.5% to 57p while strong cash flow reduced net debt £43m to £1,450m, which improved interest cover from 2.7 to 2.9 times. Managed pubs (63% group profit), which includes brands such as Loch Fyne and Hungry Horse, increased revenue 7% to £864m and operating profit a sparkling 12% to £168m.
