Optimism about rising housing transactions and the subsequent trickle down to DIY home investment such as bathroom and kitchen tiling have made shares in Topps Tiles run up to a new high of 88p, well above our recommendation price of 51p in January.Topps has also put out a trading update, which showed like-for-like revenues decreasing 1.5% for the third quarter to 29 June, but encouragingly they actually grew during June itself. The company is currently trading from 320 stores. Broker, Goldman Sachs has added Topps to its “conviction buy†list, noting that an “increase in housing turnover†will mean people will spend more on tarting up their homes, while the risk from “online disruption†is low because people still ...
