Marine support services firm James Fisher has announced the acquisition of Testconsult, a market leading provider of monitoring, instrumentation and testing services and equipment for £8m. Testconsult will extend and complement the range of services provided by Fisher’s Strainstall Monitoring business, which uses strain gauges and sensors to provide structural monitoring and load testing of bridges and offshore installations. Testconsult’s EBITDA was £1.4m for the year ended 31 March 2014. Earlier Fisher announced that first quarter trading was in line with expectations.
