In a pre-close update covering the year ended 31 July, self-storage group Lok ‘n Store has announced trading in line with expectations. Following a strong first half its second half has also been robust with occupancy rising 9.6% and price per let square foot increasing 6%. Ancillary sales were also strong with insurance sales up 17% and boxes and packaging increasing 25%. Its document storage business also performed well with an 8% increase in boxes stored. CEO Andrew Jacobs also noted that its flagship Maidenhead store, which opened in December, has quickly reached profitability while new stores in Reading, Aldershot, Southampton and Bristol are all scheduled to open over the next 18 months, which will significantly boost trad ...
