The shares bounced after N Brown’s update for the 13 weeks to 29 May noted a 2.5% jump in revenue (1.5% like-for-like). Product revenue rose 4.3% on volumes that increased 9%, responding to improved product investment & price cuts. Meanwhile financial services revenue fell almost 2%, reflecting previously announced tightening in credit criteria. Encouragingly, online sales rose 4% to 62% of turnover.Impressively, customer numbers rose 4%, including a 9% rise for its power brands Simply Be and Jacamo, which saw strong “mid double digit revenue growth” with store numbers increasing by 7 compared to H1 ’14.Jefferies’ eps forecast for 25.2p, rising to 28.4p in ‘17, is unchanged.
