The shares climbed to a new high of £38 after NMC announced a new joint venture with Hassana, the investment arm of the largest pension fund in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to jump-start growth in this oil soaked country, ranked 12th richest at US$55,000 / head by the IMF in 2017.The JV will consist of a new national healthcare company in the KSA, comprising existing assets owned by both NMC and Hassana. It will have a combined bed capacity of 1,489 beds (664 owned by NMC and 825 by its partner) and while NMC will hold a voting majority, the exact stake will be subject to final terms.
