Following a quiet 2020 the shares inched to new highs after Cranswick released strong results which triggered upgrades. Pretax profit rose almost 27% to £129.7m with eps up the same to 198.5p, helped by strong Q4 demand, new business wins, a full year contribution from Katsouris, the new poultry facility and robust export demand / pricing from the Far East and EU based customers. In Fresh Pork (30% sales), like-for-like sales were flat, with strong retail and exports offset by reduced wholesale activity. Convenience (38% sales) enjoyed 14.1% like-for-like growth with management highlighting both elevated in-home consumption and exceptional service levels across its five facilities.Amongst the smaller div ...
