Yellow Cake, an AIM quoted holding company set up a few years ago exclusively to acquire uranium ore that sits securely in a Canadian warehouse, could benefit from the push towards decarbonisation and net zero. Its connection with net zero is that nuclear power, which uses uranium for fuel (the nickname “yellow cake” refers to the yellow powder resulting from mined uranium ore being crushed and soaked in an acid solution before being dried and filtered) and generates the least CO2 equivalent emissions compared to all other power sources. A recent presentation by Yellow Cake shows that nuclear power stations emit just 3 tonnes of carbon while generating one GWh (one billion watt hours), which is less than wind (4 tonnes), solar (5) ...
