HPD, the South  American gold explorer, has acquired an optionover 50% of a new  gold exploration property, through PatagoniaGold, itself a 50% owned joint venture. The new property, whichconsists of six concessions is in the Rio Negro province of SouthernArgentina, an area near Patagonia Gold’s existing concessions. HPD has agreed to invest  $0.75m over the next two years and ithas now successfully placed 17.6m new shares at 13.5p to raise $3.7m(£2.3m), to fund all ongoing exploration.  As HPD is still a loss-making concern, its shares will be heavilyinfluenced by newsflow.
