Technology development group, BTG put out some very mixed news.  There was some encouragement from the announcement that it would  be paid £12m as a final settlement relating to its claim toentitlement to 2% of  Acambis' turnover.  However, this was overshadowed by the US Food & Drug Administration's decision to place Varisolve's phase II safety study on clinical hold. Although the FDA hasn't yet given its reasons,  it will be writing to the company in due course.  Meanwhile, European Phase III trials are continuing.
