The ink from last month’s main write-up, Aquarius Platinum, was barely dry by the time it announced its first foray into developing prospective platinum properties in a very long time. The project, albeit a modest one costing an initial Rand 3.7m, rising by a maximum Rand 30m, involves the signing of a farm-in agreement with Bakgaga Mining, to drill and conduct feasibility work at certain Bakgaga-owned properties in the Eastern limb of South Africa’s Bushveld region. Aquarius will receive an initial 25% stake in Bakgaga’s properties, which cover five farms over approximately 3,000 hectares and are close to existing mining operations.
