Shares in Land of Leather (FT: General Retailers), a fast growing leather upholstery retailer, have put on a sparkling performance since their introduction to the full list by broker Investec last July. After issuing several upbeat trading statements, the company, which raised £17m net new money, has seen its shares nearly double from their 149p placing price. Indeed, there appears to be a realistic chance that it will even surpass the outstanding performance of larger rival SCS Upholstery, 543p, whose own shares have more than tripled in the past five years.
