Speedy Hire - Another in-fill acquisition

In a pre-close update in advance of its interim results, tool and equipment hire firm Speedy Hire has announced that turnover has increased 29% for the first five months to 31 August. In its larger Tool Hire division, turnover rose 15% (8% like-for-like), while Speedy has also opened six new greenfield depots. The smaller equipment hire side has grown much faster with turnover ahead 48% (29% on an underlying basis). Since then Speedy has made another in-fill acquisition, buying North West-based Lifting Gear Hire, a specialist provider of lifting equipment to the industrial and construction sectors, for £13.5m.
