Although sentiment has deteriorated in shares of business exhibitions organiser Tarsus, trading in the three months to 31 October has remained in line with expectations. Of particular encouragement is the fact that 2008 as a whole is virtually in the bag, with 90% of budgeted sales having been booked, compared with 85% the year before. Recent events have proved a slightly mixed bag, with highlights being Labelexpo America (like-for-like sales +8%, 80% re-booking for 2010) and the US Off-Price show (discount clothing), where sales were down 4% but profit was ahead.
