They say that in the world of gambling the house always wins and in the case of William Hill, one of the best-known bookmakers in the UK gaming industry, this is certainly true. The company, which operates a chain of 2,300 betting shops making it the second largest behind only Ladbrokes, has benefited from a number of favourable events in recent years, including the introduction of the National Lottery and off site play such as phone betting and gambling over interactive TV channels.
