Abcam's AGM noted that its new financial year has started well with trading in line with expectations for the first four months. Demand for its research grade antibodies, which act as “markers†of a disease to help scientists find treatments, continues to be strong while it has seen some benefit from the weakness of sterling compared with the prior year. Whilst it has seen little impact from Government cut backs it notes that this could yet impact through reduced research funding. Adjusting for the 5-for-1 share split, the shares, which we tipped at 243p in May this year, have gained 38%. We recommended taking part profits last month at 350p; keep holding the rest. ...
