Old timers may recall that FTSE-250 listed Howden Joinery was originally the jewel in the crown of the now defunct furniture retailer MFI Group. Today Howden, which recently changed its name from Galiform, is in the rudest of health and has just informed the market that thanks to strong trading in the 4.5 months to 3 November, full year profit before tax will now be ahead of expectations. This follows a blowout set of interim results that previously led to broker upgrades and the general trend clearly suggests the company is on a roll.
