With New Jersey set to become the third state (after Delaware and Las Vegas) to allow real money online gambling on November 26, Optimal received a welcome boost with the news that it has been declared suitable to offer payment and risk management solutions to New Jersey's internet gambling providers. Numis has put out a new note, upgrading its price target to 350p (whilst rival Canaccord sets a 380p target). In particular, Numis highlights that Optimal has up to US$70m to spend on acquisitions “to diversify the geographical and merchant mix of revenue†with management drawing up a short-list of targets in Europe and the US. Numis also thinks it could be taken over or merged with rival Skrill, generating US$40m cost synergies, ...
