Al Noor has agreed a reverse takeover from Mediclinic. If it goes through, the enlarged group would become the third largest private healthcare provider in South Africa, the biggest  in the UAE and the largest private medical network in Switzerland. It would have 73 hospitals with around 10,200 beds and 35 clinics and pro-forma revenue of US$4 billion for the fiscal period 2014/15, comprising 46% from Switzerland, 31% from South Africa and 23% from the UAE.Under the deal Al Noor’s shareholders will receive a special dividend of 328p, plus the option to tender their shares for cancellation, to take their total payout to 1160p.At the eleventh hour two more bidders have entered the fray including VPS Healthcare, which ...
