Oil services firm Hunting has announced that trading during Q3 remained subdued as clients continue to cut capital spending due to lower oil prices. The main bug-bear is its higher cost US shale markets (c. 60% of H1 ’15 turnover), which require oil prices of c. US$60 to be viable. Management has achieved year-to-date reduction in headcount of 28% providing US$50m a year savings but profits will still be down 90% this year against previous forecasts for a 75% reduction.Net debt was US$165m as at 31 October. The group is partially mitigating slower demand by delaying capital investment programs and cutting the dividend.
