A key factor in the Enquest story is whether it has the financial headroom to make it through to first production of its large 70% owned Kraken field in the North Sea in H1 next year. Kraken is expected to generate a net 35,000 barrels per day, providing a huge uplift against aveage production of 42,520 as at H1. So it was a tremendous boost when management announced completion of a new share issue to raise £82m. It has issued 356.7m new shares at 23p (a 17% discount to the previous day’s close), while investors were cheered by the participation of Double A Ltd (controlled by CEO Amjad Bseisu’s extended family), which took up 42.5m shares.
