The shares soared 25p to a new high of 304p after Scapa, the manufacturer of tapes and other adhesive products for the healthcare and industrial markets, released a strong trading update for the six months ended 30 Sept. Revenue, trading profits and margins are all running ahead of last year, helped by favourable currency movements and better than expected operational efficiency. Integration of EuroMed, acquired last May, is progressing well.Numis highlights that c. 25% sales are Euro related and there is presently a fabulous Fx tailwind.
