One of the effects of not going on holiday is that consumers are spending more on high end luxury watches, which like precious jewellery and handbags, have the propensity to appreciate in value over time. This partly explains the stellar share price performance of Watches of Switzerland, which has recovered from a lock-down low of 177p to the current 401p after raising revenue guidance for the year ending April 2021 from £840m-£860m to £880m-£910m while EBITDA margins have been raised to plus 1-1.5% (previously flat).Established in 2007, Watches of Switzerland is a purveyor of luxury swiss watches such as Rolex and Cartier and in the UK (71% sales) it trades through 127 stores, which sell watches (80% turnov ...
