Reach - Deutsche says “forecast risk firmly to the upside”

Reach’s Q3 update showed revenues down only 2.5% versus minus 5% in H1. Print fell 3.9% with cover price rises and promotional activity again covering for circulation declines. But the bright spot was Digital (+2.5%) as improved yields compensated for another 5% decline in page views. Although advertisers had brought forward their late summer spend for key June events like the Euros, causing some softness, data driven revenues grew 10% and represent 46% digital revenues (FY’23: 43%). I also suspect CEO Jim Mullen has improved resilience further by shifting the traffic mix away from Facebook in favour of its targeted newsletters to registered customers.
