The shares have really come to life in recent months and are now a useful 137p ahead of last May's main recommendation price of 423p. The catalyst was both the excellent final results for the year ended 31 August, but also the strength of the order book, which has now increased to £1.1 billion, over 60 % higher than the previous year.  Pretax profit, before an exceptional charge, was up 30% to £5.8m, on turnover up 48% to £200m, while earnings rose 23% to 26p.   Following the closure of its loss-making fit out business, which triggered a final £8.4m exceptional charge, Connaught has been re-organised into two divisions; Social Housing Services, (the core property related support services business) and SME Se ...
