After a period in the doldrums the shares are finally edging upwards helped by Gulf's latest progress report. This noted that Gulf has just signed a contract to conduct two 3D seismic surveys, commencing this month and in May respectively, which will more accurately map existing exploration prospects identified by its 2D seismic data. Gulf also stated that its drilling rig has now arrived in Algeria and following commissioning tests is expected to be operational shortly. With the first well scheduled to be spudded later this month, and a program of four exploration wells to be drilled by April 2006, the potential is there for an explosive share price performance.
