Although the shares are subdued, interim results for the six months to 30 September did register a pretax profit of £1m, which came throughthe gain on sale of its stake in Pricerunner. Net asset value fell slightly to 11.4p, after write-downs in the value of some of its smaller investments. Since the year-end, Spark realised a further Eu. 6.1m through another part sale of its holding in Spuetz, and now holds 12%.  Allowing for an imminent £2m injection into existing investments, that leaves the company with net cash of just over £20m.
