The shares have embarked on a dramatic rally, rising to a high of 283p on 5 January since our main tip at 183p in December. No doubt its pre-close update, which reassured that full year results should be in line with expectations, laid the foundations for this. Of particular encouragement was the demonstration of the so-called stickability to its revenues. For example its academic journals side did well in the key months of October and November, experiencing renewal rates of over 95% in line with previous years' levels. Another encouraging point is that its subscription based publishing businesses, which also enjoy high levels of repeat business, will make up over 60% of its profits.
