Petrofac has released a pre-close trading update ahead of its full-year results announcement on 8 March. This noted that it will deliver profit after tax of at least US$350m, which represents year-on-year growth of around 25%. This compares with previous guidance for a 20% increase. Meanwhile its backlog is expected to have nearly doubled to US$7.8bn.Most recently, the company has announced another contract win, this time with state-owned national oil company, Turkmengas to help develop the South Yoloten gas field, situated 400 km from Turkmenistan's Capital, Ashgabat.
