Hargreaves has issued an update for the first half to 30 November, with in-line performance and the prospect of a strong second half expected. In the production side, the Tower Colliery has received the important section 106 planning certificate and can therefore commence immediately, although brokers only forecast significant contribution in the year to May 2013. At Maltby production has disappointed geologically following a face change but by Q1 2013 production will move to a new panel with a 25% thicker seam.Elsewhere, its energy & commodities (mineral trading) division continues to outperform expectations with a strong UK performance in spite of the mild winter and a large number of coke deals should lead to a stron ...
