Ultra has announced two US-based, eps enhancing acquisitions in the field of cyber security (electronic eavesdropping) for a combined US$115m. At a stroke, this more than doubles its exposure to fast-growing cyber related work to 20% group revenues. Larger of the two was the US$76.6m paid for Zu Industries, a Miami-based cyber surveillance business whose systems are built from two proprietary software products. These can process, store, filter and retrieve large amounts of communications data while they also boast a voice biometric technology to listen in on conversations of interest based on a match of voice samples against a large database of audio files.
