Filtrona - Maker of essential components forecast to increase eps 62% in three years

Filtrona, which makes and distributes millions of small but essential components made from plastic, fibre and foam, may not seem the likeliest of growth stocks but a quick peek at its chart shows a sparkling share price performance following its de-merger from FTSE-100 group, Bunzl, in 2005. The company is best known as a supplier of cigarette filters to tobacco companies but the platform for its recent success has been diversification from this sunset business into faster growing “sunrise” industries such as ink reservoirs for the writing industry, tear tape for consumer packaging, protection for oilfield equipment and advanced woundcare products.
